One Village, below a mountain peak, had a very peculiar freind... a dragon.

This dragon loved the townspeople.
​
Whenever the dragon came to town they could first hear the dragon's heartbeat as a magnificent, yet soft rhythm in the distance.
This rhythm didn't change as the dragon got closer, but the volume rose until it was clear as day.
The heart's rhythm did not always stay like this though, for the dragon was capable of many different emotions. Like when he entered the town and began conversing with the townspeople, "How are you doing today?" and "I appreciate your warm and steady fire."

During this part of the day the heart's rhythm became more intricate as it became more engaged.
One day the villagers said to the dragon, "We would like to celebrate our great friendship with a party during which you can entertain us with your fire and we will sing and dance!"

This excited the dragon so that his heartbeat pounded and pounded!
For this party the dragon rushed back to his castle and started to think about everything he wanted to share. He couldn't pull it all together; during this preperation his heart began skipping beats at the end of its normal rhythm.
But soon enough the dragon pulled himself back together and completed its preperations. This led to a rapid heartbeat as he couldn't wait for the party to begin.
Throughout all of the fire acts and all of the singing and dancing everyone was so happy that the dragon's heartbeat became fancy free. Nobody had quite heard a rhythm that intricate before.

All of the townspeople rejoiced and danced all the more wildly.
At the end of this day both the dragon and villagers were able to go home, the dragon to its castle and the villagers to their yurts, they reveled in all their happenings to grow up in their dreams.
