Make believe like rain-sticks.

I am studying rhythm in motion and just learned something from my rain-stick!  I love this instrument because it mimics a force of nature that often has soothing rhythm and provides life to all the earth.

There are two devices inside the rain-stick that make it work.  The seeds, which are free to move, and the crisscrossing wood sticks, which are stagnant.  The motion is falling and the seeds make a pop at each of the crisscrossing sticks and the number of pops makes the sound of rain.

Now, here’s the make believe.  Pretend drummers and dancers are like the seeds because we are both free to move.  Pretend that the crisscrossing sticks are ‘synchronizations’.  Have you ever been jinxed?  saying the same word at the same time is a kind of synchronicity.  People like to see them, it kinda clicks in their heads as something telling them they are on the right path.

If the drummers and dancers stay together and work on their number of synchronizations then when their motion or rhythms coincide it is just like the pop of the rain-stick and the more there are then the more like rain the act is.  You can make believe you are a force of nature.  A synchronicity could be something like speed or stomping the ground right on the beat or ever complex patterns and challenging movements.

That being said, You can reach beyond our sky with big coincidences.  Here’s a quote I came up with: “One star is cute, you can make a wish.  But five stars tells the story of constellation.”  Say you put in a coincidence where all members of the band hold silence for one beat.  I think the audience would gasp, rushing oxygen to their head (the fresh air from rain?) and build anticipation with the question, ‘is there more?’

Do you believe we can form a citizen space fleet?  I do.  If you don’t believe me look up Astral Projection.
